Ban 'Em, Danno! Deranged Right-Winger GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Says American Communities Have the Right to Ban Mosques from Existing.

He seems like an affable enough dude, even for a deranged right-winger. And I do like to see women and minorities buck the democrat party and be something other than leftist 20 percenters all the time. But C'mon, Herm! Ban all Muslim mosques?!

Better whip out that ol' pocket Constitution and take a look at that pesky little thing called the First Amendment. In particular, the Free Exercise Clause. It may just make for some enlightening reading.

Postscript: The Herminator used to be the CEO of one of those pizza joint chains, I think Dominoes. I wonder what his thoughts are on the hiring of Muslims? That should be the press' next question to him.

I've read also, that the Establishment (I often erroneously call it the Entanglement) Clause of the First Amendment would be implicated. Agree. Shit, even some of the free expression language of the wonderful First Amendment is probably implicated. But my first thought was Free Exercise Clause:

In this wonderful country of Freedom and Liberty, you simply CANNOT ban folks from going and practicing a religion, even if you disagree a whole lot with that particular religion. That's America, Baby! The country I love, even despite all the forces at work trying to tell us to hate it, nowadays.
