This bizarre story reminds me of the old-school shenanigans of one Doink the Evil Wrestling Clown (pictured above). The New York Daily News reports that local TV news reporter Arthur Chi'en (pictured on left) -- for no apparent good reason -- was accosted at the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade by a "marauding clown" (link to full story at bottom).The "costumed culprit" allegedly "clambered aboard the float" on which Chi'en was riding and fired Chi'en down to the street face-first. The clown then scurried away into the night, while Chi'en suffered serious facial injuries. "It was a free-for-all," said Chi'en.
The deranged clown apparently made good on his getaway, as cops have yet to make any arrests in the demented caper. There are also reportedly calls for the city to start posting cops on parade floats to prevent another evil clown from ever doing something like this again.
