The #1 ranked University of Kansas ("KU") Jayhawks fall today 69-67 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to the Northern Iowa Panthers from the Missouri Valley Conference. This may be the most embarrassing and heartbreaking loss for KU Fan that I can recall, since KU was favored to win the entire tournament but lost in the second round. Today is surely worse for KU Fan than even those first round losses to Bucknell and Bradley, since KU wasn't considered the odds-on favorite to win it all in those years. And just to add insult to injury, the loss assures that KU gets no farther in this year's tournament than their bitter, hated rival -- the University of Missouri Tigers. Ouch.
